SECURING DOCUMENTS AT THE SOURCE USING UNIVERSAL ENCRYPTION
Universal encryption is specifically designed to solve the issue of the insider threat. Unlike traditional disk-based encryption, universal encryption documents are never available in an unencrypted form. Furthermore, documents encrypted using universal encryption can only be opened on devices having the e-Safe agent installed, with the relevant credentials, and are tracked throughout their lifecycle from creation to deletion using the e-Safe agent.
If an authorised user tries to misuse a document by sending it to a third party, through trying to access the document at home or through corporate email, he will be unable to do so as the document requires the agent to open it. Documents remain encrypted all the time at rest, in motion or when in use.
e-Safe Compliance universal encryption is not reliant on Active Directory and can work even when the documents are off the corporate network.
Furthermore, the option to auto-encrypt all documents created on a particular PC or in a specific department is also available. This ensures that any document being created on a particular PC gets auto-encrypted, thus securing all information irrespective of its sensitivity level.
